How to Wear Neroli

Neroli works best when applied to pulse points and layered strategically to create depth without overwhelming its delicate citrus-floral character.

Neroli is the fragrance equivalent of perfect white cotton—it looks effortless but everything has to be exactly right.

  1. Choose your concentration. Start with eau de toilette if you're new to neroli—it's forgiving and bright. Eau de parfum gives you more depth but can turn heavy if overapplied. Pure neroli oil needs the lightest touch.
  2. Apply to warm spots. Hit your wrists, behind your ears, and the hollow of your throat. Skip the chest if you're wearing white—neroli can stain light fabrics. The warmth activates the orange blossom without making it cloying.
  3. Layer for complexity. Start with an unscented moisturizer on damp skin to create grip. Apply neroli while your skin is still slightly damp—it helps the fragrance bloom. Add a spritz to your hair ends for subtle sillage.
  4. Time it right. Neroli peaks in the first two hours, then settles into a soft skin scent. Apply 15 minutes before you leave so the initial brightness mellows. Reapply lightly at midday if you want longevity.
