How to Store Perfume in Summer Heat

Treating your fragrance like wine storage isn't precious—it's practical economics when a bottle costs more than dinner.

1. Find the coolest spot. Choose a consistently cool area away from windows, radiators, and direct sunlight. Your bedroom dresser or a hall closet works better than bathrooms where temperature fluctuates with showers.
2. Create darkness. Store bottles in their original boxes or wrap in dark fabric. Light breaks down fragrance molecules just as much as heat does.
3. Keep bottles upright. Standing upright minimizes air contact with the liquid and prevents cap seal deterioration. Never store on their side long-term.
4. Avoid temperature swings. Consistent temperature matters more than perfect coolness. A stable 70°F beats fluctuating between 65-80°F throughout the day.
