The Six-Point Map for Glow Primer Placement

Most complexion products fail when applied indiscriminately across the entire face. A glow primer is designed to mimic the high points where light naturally hits the skin, rather than providing an all-over artificial shimmer. By restricting your application to six specific points, you maintain control over the finish and prevent the skin from appearing overly slick or greasy.

This method requires nothing more than a brightening base product and clean fingertips. Use this approach before your foundation or tinted moisturizer to lock in the placement.

  1. The center of the forehead. Apply a pea-sized amount of primer to your middle finger. Tap the product lightly onto the center of the forehead, just above the brow bone. Use a pressing motion rather than a sweeping motion to keep the luminosity concentrated.
  2. The bridge of the nose. Take a tiny amount of primer and dot it precisely on the center of the bridge of your nose. Avoid the tip of the nose to prevent an oily appearance. Blend outwards toward the nostrils with a light touch.
  3. The high cheekbones. Apply the product to the highest point of each cheekbone. Extend the application slightly towards the temples, following the orbital bone. Ensure the edges are blended seamlessly into the skin to avoid visible lines.
  4. The cupid's bow. Use a precision brush or your smallest finger to apply a minute amount to the cupid's bow above the upper lip. This creates a subtle visual focus on the mouth area. Do not let the product bleed onto the lips themselves.
  5. The chin center. Apply a final dot of primer to the center of your chin. This balances the light captured on the forehead and the bridge of the nose. Blend the product in a circular motion to ensure it sits flat against the skin.
  6. Final check and diffusion. Look in a mirror under natural light to ensure no harsh edges exist. If the product appears uneven, tap with a clean, dry sponge to remove excess moisture. Allow the primer to set for one minute before applying foundation.
Strategic light reflection creates dimension without the need for additional shimmer products.
