Applying Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that contributes to the appearance of skin brightness. When paired with ferulic acid, the shelf stability and performance of the formula are enhanced through chemical stabilization. This combination is designed to neutralize free radicals that accumulate throughout the day from environmental exposure.
Correct application is essential for efficacy. Improper storage or application timing can render these active ingredients inert.
- Cleanse the skin. Use a gentle, non-stripping cleanser to remove residual sebum or nighttime skincare. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel. Residual water on the skin can interfere with the pH-dependent absorption of the serum.
- Dispense the serum. Hold the dropper away from the skin to maintain hygiene. Dispense four to five drops into the palm of your hand or directly onto the fingertips. Immediately close the bottle tightly to minimize oxygen exposure.
- Apply to the face. Using your fingertips, press the liquid into the skin of the face and neck using a light, tapping motion. Do not rub the serum vigorously, as this can lead to uneven distribution. Allow the formula to move into the top layer of the skin naturally.
- Wait for absorption. Allow the serum to sit undisturbed for at least one minute. You will notice a slight tackiness as the formula dries. This waiting period is critical to ensure the active ingredients have set on the skin before you apply further products.
- Follow with protection. Apply a basic moisturizer or a mineral-based sun protectant to seal the serum. The vitamin C serum should always be the first product applied after cleansing. Ensure your final layer covers all areas where the serum was applied.
Consistency is the primary factor in observing the effects of antioxidant topical treatments.
