Niacinamide for Tone
Niacinamide is a water-soluble form of vitamin B3 noted for its capacity to support the surface layer of the skin. When applied consistently, it helps to manage the appearance of uneven texture and mild surface discoloration without the irritation often associated with more aggressive active agents. Its utility lies in its stability and compatibility with most baseline hydration products.
This guide outlines the protocol for an eight-week cycle. Results require patience and adherence to a steady frequency of application.
- Cleanse and prepare. Begin with a neutral, pH-balanced cleanser to remove surface debris. Pat the skin dry with a clean cotton towel. Do not skip this step, as residual oils or grime prevent optimal absorption.
- Dampen the surface. Apply a light, alcohol-free mist to the face. The skin should be slightly damp before applying the serum. This improves the spreadability of the product and assists in absorption.
- Apply the serum. Dispense three to four drops of niacinamide serum into your palm. Press the liquid into the face and neck using flat palms. Avoid rubbing or pulling the skin during the application process.
- Seal with hydration. Follow with a standard, fragrance-free moisturizer. This locks in the niacinamide and prevents transepidermal water loss. Choose a formula that does not conflict with the serum texture.
- Protect during the day. If performing this routine in the morning, finish with a broad-spectrum physical sunscreen. Niacinamide does not increase sun sensitivity, but consistent tone management is undone by UV exposure.
Consistency replaces intensity when the objective is long-term surface clarity.
