SPF Application: The Final Layer

Sunscreen functions as the protective barrier for all preceding morning skincare. Applying it as the terminal step ensures that subsequent products do not disrupt the uniform film required for consistent coverage.

If placed beneath moisturizers or serums, the integrity of the SPF layer is compromised. Use this method to maintain a stable, uniform finish across the face, neck, and ears.

1. Prepare a clean base. Begin with a cleansed face. Ensure no residual oil or water remains on the skin surface. A dry surface allows for better adherence of the product.
2. Apply serum and moisturizer. Apply your chosen serum followed by a lightweight moisturizer. Allow each layer to fully absorb for at least one minute before proceeding. If the skin remains tacky, the SPF may pill during application.
3. Measure the dose. Dispense approximately a quarter-sized amount of SPF into your palm. Distribute this amount into smaller dots across the forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Do not omit the ears or the hairline.
4. Distribute and press. Use the pads of your fingers to press the product into the skin in one direction. Avoid aggressive circular rubbing, which can move the product and create streaks. Ensure the coverage is uniform across the entire surface area.
5. Allow to set. Wait two minutes before moving on to makeup or leaving the house. This window allows the protective film to stabilize on the skin surface. Avoid touching the face during this final setting phase.

Sunscreen is not a skincare treatment but a protective finish.
