How to massage under-eye bags for better circulation

Gentle upward massage with a cooling tool or fingertips helps reduce puffiness by encouraging lymphatic drainage.

Genetics gave you the bags, but five minutes of massage can at least make them less obvious before your morning meeting.

  1. Start with clean, moisturized skin. Apply a thin layer of eye cream or facial oil to create slip. Cold cucumber slices or chilled spoons work too, but product gives better glide.
  2. Use your ring fingers for gentle pressure. Start at the inner corner and sweep outward along the orbital bone. Ring fingers naturally apply the lightest pressure since they're the weakest.
  3. Work in small circles from inner to outer corner. Make tiny circles along the under-eye area, then sweep toward your temples. This follows natural lymphatic drainage patterns.
  4. Finish with upward strokes. Gently stroke from the outer corner up toward your hairline. Hold for a few seconds to encourage fluid movement away from the eye area.
