How to Touch Up Your Roots at Home
Apply temporary root touch-up powder or spray only to the visible root line, working in thin layers for natural coverage.
- Section your hair. Part your hair where you normally wear it and clip sections away. You only need to see the hairline and any areas where roots show through your usual style.
- Apply the product sparingly. Use a small brush or the applicator to dab powder or spray onto roots only. Build coverage gradually rather than applying heavily at once.
- Blend the edges. Gently pat or brush the product to soften any harsh lines where the touch-up meets your colored hair. The goal is seamless coverage.
- Set if needed. Some products require a light mist of hairspray to lock in place. Check the instructions and apply from arm's length to avoid weighing hair down.
