How to Refresh Semi-Permanent Hair Color at Home

Apply semi-permanent color to clean, damp hair and process for the recommended time to revive faded color without commitment.

1. Prep your hair. Wash with a clarifying shampoo to remove buildup, then towel dry until damp. Semi-permanent color grabs best on clean hair with some moisture still present.
2. Section and apply. Divide hair into four sections and work the color through from mid-lengths to ends using gloved hands or a brush. Focus on the most faded areas first.
3. Process and rinse. Leave on for the time specified on the package, usually 20-40 minutes. Rinse with cool water until it runs clear, then style as usual.
