How to Apply Hair Gloss for Mirror Shine
Apply gloss treatment to damp, clean hair section by section, wait the specified time, then rinse for immediate shine that lasts weeks.
Gloss is maintenance, not magic—your hair's baseline condition determines how dramatic the results will be.
- Start with clean, damp hair. Shampoo as usual but skip conditioner—gloss needs direct contact with your hair cuticles. Towel dry until hair is damp but not dripping.
- Section your hair methodically. Divide hair into four quadrants, then work in thin horizontal sections within each quadrant. This ensures every strand gets coated evenly.
- Apply from mid-length to ends. Use a tinting brush or gloved hands to saturate each section, avoiding roots unless the product specifically says otherwise. Work quickly but thoroughly.
- Time it precisely. Follow the timing on your product exactly—usually 10-20 minutes. Longer doesn't mean better and can actually dull your results.
- Rinse with cool water only. Skip shampoo and use only cool water to seal the cuticles. The water should run clear when you're done rinsing.
