How to Make a Beer Rinse for Glass-Like Hair Shine
Pour flat beer through clean hair after shampooing, leave for 2-3 minutes, then rinse with cool water for instant shine.
- Choose your beer. Pick any beer you have on hand and let it go completely flat overnight. The carbonation does nothing for your hair and can leave residue. Light beers work just as well as dark ones.
- Shampoo normally. Wash your hair with your regular shampoo but skip conditioner. You want clean hair with slightly open cuticles so the proteins in beer can actually penetrate.
- Apply the beer rinse. Pour the flat beer slowly from roots to ends, making sure every strand is saturated. Massage gently for 30 seconds to distribute evenly.
- Wait and rinse. Let the beer sit for 2-3 minutes maximum. Any longer and you risk protein overload. Rinse thoroughly with cool water to seal the cuticles and lock in shine.
