DIY Coconut Milk Hair Mask
Mix full-fat coconut milk with honey or oil, apply to damp hair for 20-30 minutes, then shampoo out for soft, moisturized strands.
- Choose your coconut milk. Use canned full-fat coconut milk, not the drinking kind. The thick cream at the top is pure gold for dry hair. Room temperature works best for mixing.
- Add your booster. Mix 3 tablespoons coconut milk with 1 tablespoon honey for moisture, or 1 teaspoon olive oil for extra richness. Honey helps the mask spread evenly and adds shine.
- Apply to damp hair. Work the mixture through clean, towel-dried hair from mid-length to ends. Avoid the roots unless your scalp is very dry. Comb through with wide teeth to distribute evenly.
- Wait and rinse. Leave on for 20-30 minutes under a shower cap or towel. Rinse thoroughly with cool water first, then shampoo once to remove any residue.
