DIY Yogurt Deep Conditioner

Mix plain Greek yogurt with honey and olive oil for a protein-rich treatment that smooths and strengthens hair.

  1. Choose your base. Use plain Greek yogurt—never flavored or sweetened. The lactic acid gently exfoliates while proteins fill in hair cuticles. Full-fat works best for extra moisture.
  2. Add moisture boosters. Mix in one tablespoon of honey and one teaspoon of olive oil per half cup of yogurt. Honey attracts moisture while olive oil penetrates the hair shaft.
  3. Apply to damp hair. Work the mixture through towel-dried hair from mid-length to ends, avoiding the scalp. The yogurt can be cold—it actually helps seal the hair cuticle.
  4. Process and rinse. Leave for 20-30 minutes under a shower cap. Rinse thoroughly with cool water first, then shampoo once to remove any residue.
