How to Care for Curly Hair
Curly hair needs moisture, gentle handling, and products that work with its natural pattern instead of against it.
Stop fighting your texture and start working with it—your hair already knows what it wants to do.
- Wash less, condition more. Shampoo only when your scalp feels dirty, usually 1-2 times per week. Use sulfate-free formulas that won't strip natural oils. Co-wash with conditioner between shampoos to refresh without over-cleansing.
- Apply products to soaking wet hair. Work leave-in conditioner and styling cream through dripping wet curls using praying hands or scrunching motions. Water helps distribute products evenly and reduces frizz. Never brush dry curls.
- Dry with intention. Squeeze excess water with a microfiber towel or cotton t-shirt, never rub. Air dry when possible, or use a diffuser on low heat with cupping motions. Sleep on silk pillowcases to prevent friction damage.
- Refresh between washes. Spritz with water and a small amount of leave-in conditioner to reactivate curl pattern. Scrunch gently to redistribute natural oils and reshape flattened sections.
