How to Create a Perfect Donut Bun
Secure hair in a high ponytail, thread through a donut ring, spread hair evenly around it, and wrap ends underneath while pinning in place.
- Create the base ponytail. Brush hair smooth and secure in a high ponytail with a strong elastic. The placement determines your bun position, so choose crown-level for classic or slightly lower for relaxed.
- Thread the donut ring. Slide the foam donut ring down your ponytail to the base. Pull the ponytail through the center hole and position the ring against your scalp where you want the bun to sit.
- Spread and wrap the hair. Fan your hair evenly around the donut ring to cover it completely. Smooth any lumps with your fingers, then gather the ends and wrap them around the base of the bun.
- Secure and finish. Tuck the wrapped ends under the bun and pin them down with bobby pins. Use 4-6 pins placed around the circumference for security, then mist with hairspray if needed.
