How to Create a Half-Up Bubble Ponytail

Section the top half of your hair into a high ponytail, then create bubbles by adding elastics every 2-3 inches down the length and gently tugging each section outward.

  1. Section and secure the top half. Part your hair horizontally from ear to ear, gathering everything above into a high ponytail at the crown. Secure tightly with a clear elastic to prevent slipping as you add weight below.
  2. Create the bubble segments. Add another elastic 2-3 inches down from the first one, then repeat every few inches until you reach the ends. The spacing determines your bubble size, so keep it consistent for a polished look.
  3. Form the bubbles. Gently pull at the hair between each elastic, tugging outward and slightly upward to create volume. Work systematically from top to bottom, making each section equally full and rounded.
