How to Do a Milkmaid Braid
Create two regular braids, then wrap them around your head like a crown and pin in place.
- Part down the middle. Create a clean center part from your hairline to the nape of your neck. This gives you two equal sections to work with and keeps the style balanced.
- Braid each side. Make a regular three-strand braid on each side, starting just behind your ears. Braid all the way down and secure with clear elastics.
- Wrap the first braid. Take your left braid and bring it up and over the top of your head like a headband. Pin it behind your right ear with bobby pins that match your hair color.
- Layer the second braid. Bring the right braid up and over, covering the base of the first braid. Tuck the end under and pin securely behind your left ear.
- Hide the elastics. Use bobby pins to tuck away any visible hair ties and smooth down flyaways. The braids should look like one continuous crown.
