How to do a side-swept ponytail
Create a deep side part, smooth hair toward the opposite side, and secure into a ponytail at your preferred height.
- Create your side part. Use a rat-tail comb to draw a clean line from your hairline to your crown, placing it about an inch from your natural part. The deeper the part, the more dramatic the sweep.
- Smooth the sweep. Brush all hair from the heavier side across your head using a boar bristle brush, following the direction of your part. Apply a small amount of styling cream to tame flyaways and create sleekness.
- Position and secure. Gather hair at your desired height—low for sophistication, mid-level for versatility, or high for drama. Secure with an elastic, ensuring the swept section maintains its smooth line across your head.
- Polish the finish. Wrap a small section of hair around the elastic to hide it, securing with a bobby pin underneath. Mist with light-hold hairspray to lock the style without stiffness.
