How to Style a Lob Haircut
A lob works with texture — rough-dry it, bend pieces away from your face, and finish with oil on the ends.
The lob only looks expensive when it moves naturally — stop trying to make every piece perfect.
- Start with damp hair. Apply a lightweight mousse or texturizing cream to towel-dried hair. Focus on mid-lengths to ends, avoiding roots to prevent flatness.
- Rough dry with fingers. Use a diffuser or blow-dry with your hands, scrunching sections upward. This creates natural movement and prevents the blunt cut from looking too severe.
- Add bends with a flat iron. Take 2-inch sections and create loose waves by bending pieces away from your face. Alternate directions randomly for an undone look.
- Break up the texture. Run your fingers through to soften any obvious styling marks. The goal is effortless texture, not perfect curls.
- Seal the ends. Apply a drop of hair oil to your palms and smooth over the bottom inch of hair. This prevents the blunt cut from looking dry or choppy.
