How to Tame Frizzy Crown Curls

Layer lightweight leave-in products when hair is soaking wet, then scrunch out excess water with a microfiber towel.

  1. Wet application. Apply leave-in conditioner to dripping wet hair, focusing on the crown section. Water dilutes products and helps even distribution. Work through with wide-tooth comb.
  2. Layer curl cream. Add a small amount of curl cream to the same damp sections using praying hands method. This seals the cuticle and defines curl pattern without weighing hair down.
  3. Gentle water removal. Press hair gently with microfiber towel or cotton t-shirt to remove excess water. Never rub or twist. The goal is damp, not dripping.
  4. Air dry or diffuse. Let hair air dry completely or use a diffuser on low heat, low speed. Touch hair as little as possible during drying to prevent frizz activation.
