Teen Makeup Basics That Actually Look Good
Start with tinted moisturizer, cream blush, clear mascara, and lip balm for a natural look that won't get you in trouble.
- Prep your canvas. Wash your face and apply a light moisturizer with SPF. Skip primer for now — your young skin doesn't need it and it can make things look heavy.
- Even things out. Use tinted moisturizer or BB cream instead of foundation. Apply with clean fingers, focusing on your T-zone where you might have more oil or redness.
- Add natural color. Cream blush works better than powder on young skin. Dab a tiny amount on your cheekbones and blend with fingers for a natural flush.
- Define your eyes simply. Clear or brown mascara on upper lashes only looks fresh and awake. Skip eyeliner until you've mastered the basics — it's harder than it looks.
- Finish with lips. Tinted lip balm or clear gloss gives you moisture and a hint of color. Avoid anything too pigmented or matte — it ages you.
