How to Create an Emerald Green Eye Look
Build depth with matte emerald in the crease, add shimmer to the lid, and balance with warm undertones.
- Prime and set the base. Apply eyeshadow primer from lash line to brow bone. Set with a neutral powder shadow that matches your skin tone. This prevents the green from looking muddy and helps it stay vibrant all day.
- Define the crease. Use a fluffy brush to apply matte emerald shadow in the outer corner and crease, blending upward and outward. Start light and build gradually—green can go from sophisticated to overwhelming quickly.
- Add dimension to the lid. Pat metallic or shimmer emerald shadow onto the mobile lid with a flat shader brush. Use your finger or a damp brush for maximum impact. Keep the shimmer concentrated on the center of the lid for the most flattering effect.
- Warm the inner corner. Apply a champagne or warm gold highlight to the inner corner and just under the brow bone. This prevents the look from appearing too cool and adds light back to your eyes.
- Line and define. Use dark brown or black eyeliner close to the lash line—avoid green liner which can compete with your shadows. Finish with black mascara, focusing on separation rather than volume to keep the focus on the color.
