How to Create a Gold Inner Corner Highlight

Apply gold liner to clean inner corners using precise dots, then blend upward for an instant eye-opening effect.

Most people apply this too heavily and end up looking like they fell into a craft store—the goal is to catch light, not blind people.

  1. Prep the area. Remove any eyeshadow or concealer from inner corners with a clean brush or cotton swab. The gold needs clean skin to grip properly.
  2. Apply the base dot. Place a small dot of gold liner directly in the inner corner where upper and lower lids meet. Use the tiniest amount—you can always add more.
  3. Blend upward. Using your ring finger or a small synthetic brush, gently pat and blend the gold up toward the inner third of your upper lid. Keep the coverage light and diffused.
  4. Define the lower edge. Add a thin line along the inner rim of your lower waterline if using waterproof liner, or just below the lash line for regular formulas. This creates the full glow effect.
