How to Create a Mauve Monochrome Look
Use the same mauve shade family across eyes, cheeks, and lips for a cohesive, effortless finish.
- Map your mauve. Choose one mauve undertone and stick to it. Cool mauves lean purple, warm mauves lean brown. Your skin tone will tell you which works—cool undertones take cool mauves, warm undertones take warm mauves.
- Start with eyes. Sweep mauve eyeshadow across the lid and slightly above the crease. Use a slightly deeper version in the outer corner for dimension. Skip harsh lines—this look lives in soft gradients.
- Add cheek color. Apply mauve blush to the apples of your cheeks, blending upward toward your temples. Use less than you think you need—monochrome looks amplify color impact.
- Finish with lips. Choose a mauve lip color that matches your undertone family. Matte finishes look more intentional, but satin works if your skin is dry or textured.
