How to Make Tired Eyes Look Awake
Use concealer one shade lighter than your skin, cream eyeshadow in champagne or peach, white liner on the waterline, and curl lashes before mascara.
- Prime the undereye area. Pat a light layer of eyeshadow primer or concealer under your eyes and on lids. This creates a smooth base and prevents makeup from settling into fine lines that emphasize fatigue.
- Brighten with concealer. Apply concealer one shade lighter than your skin in an inverted triangle under each eye. Blend the edges but keep the center bright to lift the entire eye area.
- Add warmth to lids. Sweep champagne, peach, or light bronze cream eyeshadow across the entire lid and just above the crease. Cream formulas reflect light better than powder and create that well-rested glow.
- Line the waterline. Run white or nude eyeliner along your lower waterline to make the whites of your eyes appear larger and brighter. This single step has the biggest impact on tired-looking eyes.
- Curl and define lashes. Curl lashes for 10 seconds, then apply one coat of brown or black mascara focusing on separation. Well-defined lashes open up the eye area without looking overdone.
