How to Apply Individual Lashes

Apply individual lashes from the outer corner inward, placing them on top of your natural lashes rather than at the base.

Individual lashes are the beauty equivalent of good tailoring—when done right, they enhance what you have rather than announcing themselves.

  1. Prep your natural lashes. Curl your lashes and apply one coat of mascara. Let it dry completely. This creates a grippy base and helps the individual lashes blend seamlessly with your own.
  2. Select and prepare the lashes. Choose individual lashes that match or are slightly longer than your natural ones. Dip the base in lash glue and wait 15 seconds until it becomes tacky. Clear glue works best for beginners.
  3. Apply from outer to inner corner. Using tweezers, place the first lash on the outer corner where your natural lashes are longest. Press down gently and hold for 5 seconds. Work your way inward, spacing lashes 2-3 natural lashes apart.
  4. Blend and finish. Once all lashes are placed, gently press them together with your natural lashes using a clean spoolie. Apply one final coat of mascara to blend everything together.
