How to Apply Mascara Without Clumping

Wipe the wand before applying and build thin layers rather than loading lashes all at once.

Clumpy lashes are just impatience made visible. Less product, more precision.

  1. Clean the wand. Wipe excess product off the mascara wand using a tissue or the tube opening. Too much product is the main culprit behind clumpy lashes.
  2. Start at the base. Place the wand at the root of your lashes and wiggle slightly before sweeping upward. This distributes product evenly from base to tip.
  3. Use the tip for separation. Turn the wand vertically and use the tip to separate any lashes that stick together. Work through small sections methodically.
  4. Build in thin layers. Let the first coat dry completely before applying a second. Two thin coats always look better than one heavy application.
