How to Blend Eyeshadow Smoothly
Use a fluffy blending brush in small circular motions with very little product, building color gradually.
Most people use brushes that are too small and too much shadow at once, then wonder why it looks amateur.
- Start with transition shade. Apply a neutral shade slightly darker than your skin tone to the crease with a fluffy brush. This creates a base for blending and prevents harsh lines.
- Build gradually. Add color in thin layers using gentle circular motions. Too much product at once creates muddy, patchy results that are impossible to fix.
- Use the right brush. A clean, fluffy blending brush does the heavy lifting. Press lightly and move in small circles, focusing on where colors meet.
- Blend upward and outward. Move your brush from the lash line toward the brow bone in sweeping motions. This creates lift and prevents color from looking heavy or droopy.
