How to Get Even Winged Eyeliner Every Time

Map your wing angle with tape or a card, then connect the dots with steady, short strokes.

  1. Find your wing angle. Hold a flat brush or card from your nostril through the outer corner of your eye. This line shows where your wing should end. Mark it with a tiny dot.
  2. Draw the wing outline first. Connect the dot to where you want the wing tip to be, then draw back down to your upper lash line. You're creating a triangle outline before filling anything in.
  3. Line your upper lash line. Start from the inner corner and work outward to meet your wing. Keep the liner as close to your lashes as possible to avoid gaps.
  4. Fill and refine. Fill in the wing triangle, then clean up any wobbles with a flat brush dipped in concealer or micellar water.
