How to Fill in Eyebrows Naturally

Use short, hair-like strokes with a pencil one shade lighter than your brows, following your natural arch.

Perfect brows are a myth sold by beauty brands—embrace your natural arch and just fill the gaps.

  1. Map your natural shape. Hold a straight brush vertically against your nostril to find where your brow should start. Angle it across your pupil for the arch, then to your outer corner for the tail. Your natural shape is your blueprint.
  2. Choose the right shade. Pick a pencil or powder one shade lighter than your natural brows. Too dark looks painted on, too light disappears completely.
  3. Fill with hair-like strokes. Draw short, upward strokes in the direction your hair grows. Focus on sparse areas first, then blend with a spoolie brush to soften any harsh lines.
  4. Set with clear gel. Brush clear or tinted brow gel through to hold everything in place. This mimics the texture of real hair and prevents smudging.
