How to Tightline Your Eyes

Tightlining means drawing liner between your lashes at the upper lash line to create the illusion of thicker lashes without visible liner.

Tightlining is the difference between makeup that looks applied versus lashes that just happen to be perfect.

  1. Start with clean, dry lids. Remove any residual makeup or oils from your lash line with a cotton swab. This prevents the liner from sliding around or creating patchy application.
  2. Lift your upper lid gently. Use your non-dominant hand to pull your upper lid slightly upward, exposing the waterline. You want to see the pink inner rim and the base of your lashes clearly.
  3. Apply liner between the lashes. Using a thin, firm liner pencil, gently press and wiggle the tip between your upper lashes, filling in the gaps at the root level. Work in small sections from inner to outer corner.
  4. Build gradually. Go over the line 2-3 times if needed, pressing gently each time. The goal is to darken the lash base without creating an obvious line above your lashes.
