How to Apply Highlighter for a Natural Glow

Apply highlighter only to the high points of your face where light naturally hits—cheekbones, nose bridge, and cupid's bow—using a light hand and building gradually.

Most people highlight their entire cheek like they're painting a wall—the goal is strategic light placement, not disco ball realness.

  1. Choose your formula. Pick powder for oily skin, cream for dry skin, or liquid for the most natural finish. Cream blends seamlessly but powder lasts longer.
  2. Map your high points. Apply to cheekbones (the actual bone, not the apple), bridge of nose, cupid's bow, and inner corners of eyes. Skip the tip of your nose unless you want to look shiny.
  3. Apply with precision. Use a small, dense brush for powder or your ring finger for cream. Start with barely any product and build slowly—you can always add more but removing excess is messy.
  4. Blend the edges. Harsh lines kill the illusion of natural luminosity. Blend outward with a clean brush or finger until the edges disappear seamlessly into your base.
