How to Create a Latte Makeup Look

Build warm, coffee-toned layers using browns and creams to create a soft, caffeinated glow that looks naturally sun-kissed.

Latte makeup only works if you commit to the warmth—half-hearted browns just look muddy, so either embrace the coffee shop aesthetic completely or choose something else.

  1. Prime with warmth. Apply a luminous primer that adds subtle golden undertones to your base. Skip anything too dewy—you want glow, not grease. This creates the perfect canvas for warm tones to blend seamlessly.
  2. Perfect the coffee base. Use foundation one shade deeper than your natural tone, blended only where you naturally tan. Focus on forehead, nose bridge, and cheekbones. The goal is that just-back-from-vacation warmth, not a full face transformation.
  3. Brew the eyes. Sweep a light caramel shade across the lid, then deepen the outer corner with espresso brown. Blend upward and outward—think soft gradient, not harsh lines. Add a dot of cream shimmer to the inner corners for that morning light effect.
  4. Warm the cheeks. Apply a terracotta or warm peach blush to the apples of your cheeks, blending up toward your temples. Layer with a golden highlighter on the high points—cheekbones, nose tip, cupid's bow. Think sunrise, not spotlight.
  5. Finish with coffee lips. Choose a nude-brown lip color that's slightly deeper than your natural lip tone. Blot once for that lived-in look, or add clear gloss for a more polished finish. The lips should complement, not compete with the eyes.
