Holiday Dinner Makeup That Photographs Well
Build depth with matte neutrals, add controlled shimmer, and use long-wear formulas that survive multiple courses.
- Prime and set the base. Use a mattifying primer in your T-zone and hydrating primer everywhere else. Apply foundation with a damp beauty sponge for airbrushed coverage. Set with translucent powder only where you get oily.
- Create depth without drama. Sweep a matte brown one shade deeper than your skin through the crease. Blend upward and outward. Add the same shade along your lower lash line with a small brush for cohesion.
- Add controlled sparkle. Pat champagne or bronze shimmer on the inner third of your lids only. Skip the entire lid—it photographs flat under restaurant lighting. Blend the edges so it melts into your base shade.
- Define and lock everything. Line your upper lash line with brown pencil, smudge slightly. Apply two coats of waterproof mascara. Fill brows with short, hair-like strokes and set with clear gel.
- Finish with warmth. Use a matte berry or deep rose blush on the apples of your cheeks. Choose a lip color in the same family but slightly deeper. Blot and reapply for staying power.
