How to Do Makeup for the Gym

Skip everything except waterproof mascara, tinted moisturizer with SPF, and lip balm.

  1. Start with clean skin. Wash your face or use a gentle wipe to remove any leftover makeup. Fresh skin breathes better during workouts and prevents clogged pores.
  2. Apply tinted moisturizer with SPF. Choose something lightweight that won't slide off when you sweat. The SPF protects if you're doing outdoor activities or near windows.
  3. Waterproof mascara only. One coat of waterproof mascara on upper lashes gives you definition without the raccoon eyes. Skip lower lashes entirely.
  4. Add lip balm or tinted lip balm. Your lips need hydration during workouts. A tinted version gives subtle color that won't transfer onto water bottles.
  5. Set with translucent powder. Lightly dust your T-zone with translucent powder to control shine. Focus on areas that sweat first.
