How to Create a Diwali Festive Look
Build drama with gold-toned eyes, bold liner, and warm-toned lips while keeping skin luminous.
- Prime for longevity. Use eyeshadow primer on lids and face primer everywhere else. Diwali celebrations run long, and you need your makeup to match that energy. Set with a light dusting of translucent powder.
- Create luminous skin. Mix a drop of liquid highlighter into your foundation for an all-over glow. Apply foundation normally, then add cream highlighter to high points. The goal is skin that looks lit from within, not flat or matte.
- Build golden eyes. Pack gold eyeshadow on the lid, then deepen the crease with warm bronze. Use your finger to apply the gold for maximum intensity. Add a touch of champagne highlighter to the inner corners and brow bone.
- Line for definition. Apply black kohl liner to the waterline and upper lash line, making it slightly thicker than usual. Wing it out subtly. This creates the dramatic eye definition that balances all the gold shimmer.
- Add warmth to lips. Choose a warm-toned lip color that complements your gold eyes without competing. Berry, deep coral, or warm red work well. Blot once and reapply for staying power through all the sweets.
