How to Blur Pores with Powder Like a Pro

Press translucent powder into pores with a damp beauty sponge, then sweep away excess with a fluffy brush.

  1. Prime first. Apply a silicone-based primer to clean skin, focusing on pore-heavy areas like your T-zone. Let it set for two minutes before moving to foundation.
  2. Foundation prep. Apply foundation everywhere except your pore zones. This prevents product from settling into pores and creating texture.
  3. Press, don't sweep. Dampen a beauty sponge slightly and dip into translucent powder. Press firmly into pores using a bouncing motion, building coverage gradually.
  4. Sweep clean. Use a large fluffy brush to sweep away excess powder in light, upward strokes. This removes buildup while maintaining the blur effect.
  5. Set strategically. Lightly dust setting powder only where you tend to get oily. Over-powdering will emphasize texture instead of hiding it.
