How to Highlight Your Cupid's Bow
Apply a small amount of highlighter to the center dip and peaks of your upper lip to create the illusion of fuller, more defined lips.
- Map your Cupid's bow. Look in the mirror and identify the natural dip in the center of your upper lip and the two peaks on either side. This M-shaped curve is your Cupid's bow, and these three points are where you'll apply highlighter.
- Choose your highlighter. Use a cream highlighter for natural-looking dimension or a powder highlighter for more dramatic shine. The shade should be one to two tones lighter than your natural lip color.
- Apply to the center dip. Using a small brush or your fingertip, apply a tiny amount of highlighter to the center dip of your Cupid's bow. This creates the illusion of depth and draws attention to your lip shape.
- Highlight the peaks. Dab highlighter on the two highest points of your upper lip. Blend gently to avoid harsh lines while maintaining the definition of your natural lip shape.
- Optional lower lip highlight. Add a small dot of highlighter to the center of your lower lip to complete the effect. This makes both lips appear fuller and more balanced.
