How to Create Geometric Eyeliner Shapes
Use tape as guides, start with simple angles, and work in thin layers to build precise geometric shapes.
- Map your canvas. Look straight ahead into a mirror with your eyes open. Mark where you want your geometric shape to sit using a washable eyeliner or eyebrow pencil. Your eye shape when open is what matters, not closed.
- Create your guide. Cut small pieces of tape and place them along the edges where you want clean lines. Press down firmly but gently. For triangles, use three pieces; for sharp wings, use one angled piece.
- Build in thin layers. Apply your liner in multiple thin coats rather than trying to get opacity in one go. Start with the outline, then fill. This prevents smudging and gives you control over the intensity.
- Remove tape immediately. Peel off tape while the liner is still slightly wet for the cleanest edges. Wait too long and you risk pulling off dried product with the tape.
- Clean up with precision. Use a small flat brush with micellar water or makeup remover to sharpen any wobbly lines. Work in small, controlled movements.
