How to Layer Cream and Powder Blush
Apply cream blush first to clean skin, blend out the edges, then dust powder blush on top using the same shade family for depth and longevity.
- Start with cream on clean skin. Apply cream blush directly to the apples of your cheeks before any powder products. Use your fingers or a damp beauty sponge to press and blend the product into skin. This creates the base layer that powder will grip onto.
- Blend the edges seamlessly. Work the cream blush outward toward your temples using gentle tapping motions. The goal is a soft gradient with no harsh lines. Let this set for 30 seconds before moving to powder.
- Apply setting powder lightly. Dust a thin layer of translucent powder over your cream blush using a fluffy brush. This prevents the powder blush from looking muddy and creates a smooth surface for layering.
- Add powder blush for dimension. Use a smaller, denser brush to apply powder blush in the same color family as your cream base. Focus on the center of the apples and blend outward, building gradually for natural-looking depth.
