How to Tightline Your Eyes

Press eyeliner into the upper waterline and between lashes to create the illusion of fuller lashes without visible liner.

  1. Prep your workspace. Use a magnifying mirror and good lighting. Pull your upper lid taut by gently lifting your brow or pulling the lid up from the lash line.
  2. Choose the right liner. Use a firm, waterproof pencil or gel liner on a thin brush. Soft pencils will smudge and liquid liners are too harsh for this delicate area.
  3. Work from underneath. Tilt your head back and look down into the mirror. Press the liner into the upper waterline in short, dabbing motions rather than dragging.
  4. Fill between lashes. Use the tip of the liner to dot color between individual lashes at the base. This eliminates any gaps and creates seamless fullness.
