How to Make a Honey Face Mask

Mix raw honey with a complementary ingredient like oatmeal or yogurt, apply to clean skin for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with warm water.

Honey masks are the beauty equivalent of a white t-shirt—simple, effective, and impossible to mess up.

  1. Choose your honey. Use raw, unprocessed honey for maximum benefits. Manuka honey works well but regular raw honey from a health food store is perfectly fine. Avoid processed honey from squeeze bottles.
  2. Pick your add-in. Mix 2 tablespoons honey with 1 tablespoon finely ground oatmeal for gentle exfoliation, or plain Greek yogurt for extra hydration. You can use honey alone if your skin is sensitive.
  3. Apply and wait. Spread the mixture evenly on clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave on for 15-20 minutes until it feels slightly tight but not uncomfortable.
  4. Remove gently. Rinse with lukewarm water, using gentle circular motions if you added oatmeal. Pat skin dry and follow with your usual moisturizer.
