How to Keep Your Skin Cool During a Heatwave
Strip your routine down to gentle cleansing, lightweight hydration, and SPF 30+ reapplied every two hours.
- Switch to a gel cleanser. Hot weather means more oil and sweat, but harsh cleansing will backfire. A gel cleanser removes excess without stripping your barrier. Cleanse morning and night, never more.
- Layer hydration light. Heavy creams feel suffocating in heat and can trap sweat. Use a hydrating toner or essence, then a gel moisturizer. Your skin still needs moisture even when it feels oily.
- Reapply SPF religiously. SPF 30 minimum, reapplied every two hours without exception. Heat makes you sweat it off faster and UV rays are stronger. Choose a lightweight formula that layers well over your routine.
- Cool your products. Store your moisturizer and any serums in the refrigerator. The cooling effect feels incredible on overheated skin and helps reduce inflammation from heat exposure.
