How to Minimize Under Eye Bags

Under eye bags need cold therapy, caffeine, and proper hydration—plus strategic concealer to blur what remains.

Under eye bags are largely genetic and structural, so focus on optical illusions rather than chasing miracle cures that don't exist.

  1. Cold compress for immediate deflation. Press a cold spoon, ice cube wrapped in cloth, or chilled eye patches under your eyes for 10-15 minutes. Cold constricts blood vessels and reduces the puffy appearance instantly.
  2. Apply caffeine-based eye cream. Pat a caffeine eye cream or serum from inner to outer corner using your ring finger. Caffeine temporarily tightens skin and reduces fluid retention that creates puffiness.
  3. Hydrate and elevate. Drink water and sleep with an extra pillow to prevent fluid from pooling under your eyes overnight. Dehydration paradoxically makes your body retain more water in problem areas.
  4. Color correct strategically. Use peach or orange color corrector on the darkest part of bags, then blend concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone. Focus on the shadow the bag creates, not the bag itself.
