How to Make Coffee Sugar Body Scrub at Home

Mix equal parts ground coffee and sugar with enough coconut oil to bind, then scrub in circular motions before rinsing off.

  1. Gather your base ingredients. You need equal parts ground coffee and granulated sugar—about half a cup each for one full-body session. The coffee provides gentle exfoliation while the sugar dissolves slowly for extended scrubbing time.
  2. Add your binding oil. Pour in melted coconut oil gradually until the mixture holds together when squeezed but isn't oily. Start with two tablespoons and add more if needed—the texture should feel like wet sand.
  3. Apply on damp skin. Start with slightly wet skin in the shower and work the scrub in small circular motions from ankles up. Focus on rough areas like elbows and knees, but skip sensitive spots and any broken skin.
  4. Rinse and follow up. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat skin dry. Skip moisturizer immediately after—the coconut oil will leave a light protective layer that absorbs within minutes.
