How to Make DIY Facial Oil Blend for Your Skin Type
Mix a base oil with treatment oils in 80-20 ratio, patch test, and adjust based on how your skin responds.
- Choose your base oil. Pick jojoba for oily skin, rosehip for dry skin, or argan for combination skin. These absorb well and won't clog pores. Start with one ounce as your foundation.
- Add treatment oils. Mix in 3-5 drops total of targeted oils like tea tree for breakouts or marula for hydration. Never exceed 20% of your total blend with treatment oils.
- Test and adjust. Apply one drop to your inner wrist, wait 24 hours for reactions. If your skin feels greasy after 30 minutes, use less or switch to a lighter base oil.
- Store properly. Keep in a dark glass bottle away from heat and light. Label with ingredients and date since homemade blends last 6-12 months maximum.
