How to Make Rose Water Toner at Home
Simmer fresh rose petals in distilled water for 15 minutes, strain, and store in the fridge for up to two weeks.
- Choose your roses. Use organic roses that haven't been treated with pesticides—grocery store bouquets won't work. Pink or red varieties give the strongest scent and color.
- Prepare the petals. Rinse two cups of fresh petals under cool water and remove any stems or damaged bits. Pat dry with a clean towel.
- Simmer gently. Place petals in a pot with just enough distilled water to cover them. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes until petals lose their color and water turns pink.
- Strain and store. Pour through a fine mesh strainer into a clean glass bottle. Let cool completely before refrigerating—it keeps for two weeks maximum.
