How to Make Sugar Lip Scrub
Mix two parts sugar with one part oil, scrub gently in circles, then rinse.
- Choose your sugar. Use fine white or brown sugar for gentler exfoliation, or coarse sugar for stubborn flakes. Brown sugar dissolves faster and smells better.
- Add your oil. Mix in coconut oil for solid scrub that melts on contact, olive oil for budget-friendly moisture, or jojoba oil for the closest match to your skin's natural oils. Start with half the amount of oil to sugar.
- Test the texture. The mixture should clump together when pressed but crumble when stirred. Add more oil if too dry, more sugar if too wet.
- Apply and scrub. Use clean fingers to massage onto dry lips in small circular motions for 30 seconds. Focus on flaky areas but avoid pressing hard.
- Remove completely. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a clean towel. Follow immediately with lip balm while lips are still slightly damp.
