How to Care for Forehead Lines
Consistent moisturizing, targeted retinol use, and strategic sunscreen application prevent and minimize forehead lines better than any single product.
- Start with gentle cleansing. Use a mild cleanser that won't strip your skin's natural barrier. The forehead area produces oil but is also prone to dehydration from constant movement. Clean without over-cleansing.
- Apply targeted treatment. Use retinol or retinoid products specifically on the forehead area 2-3 times per week to start. This increases cell turnover and stimulates collagen production where expression lines form most. Build tolerance gradually.
- Moisturize with intention. Layer a hydrating serum under your moisturizer, focusing on the forehead. The constant muscle movement here breaks down moisture faster than other facial areas.
- Apply sunscreen daily. The forehead catches more UV exposure than most face areas due to its prominent position. Use SPF 30 minimum and reapply throughout the day, especially if you're outdoors.
- Consider facial massage. Gentle upward massage motions can improve circulation and temporarily smooth the appearance of lines. Use your moisturizer or facial oil as a slip agent.
