How to Care for Your Hairline
Treat your hairline like delicate facial skin with gentle cleansing, targeted moisturizing, and daily SPF protection.
- Cleanse without stripping. Use a gentle, sulfate-free cleanser along the hairline during your evening routine. The skin here is thinner than the rest of your face and picks up product buildup from hair styling. Work in small circles with your fingertips, not your nails.
- Moisturize the transition zone. Apply a lightweight facial moisturizer to the hairline area, blending it into your regular skincare routine. This prevents the dryness and flaking that happens when hair products sit on skin. Skip heavy creams that might clog follicles.
- Protect from sun exposure. Apply SPF to your hairline every morning, especially if you wear your hair pulled back. This area burns easily and shows aging faster than protected skin. Reapply if you're sweating or touching the area frequently.
- Remove product buildup weekly. Once a week, use a clarifying shampoo or gentle exfoliant specifically on the hairline. Hair products migrate to skin and create buildup that regular cleansing misses. Focus on areas where you apply gel, mousse, or dry shampoo.
